What Everyone Gets Wrong About The V6 Mustang
Переглядів 89121 день тому
These V6 Mustangs are low-hanging fruit orchards if you can be satisfied with ~200-250 horsepower in a ~3100lb car . They're not muscle cars and never claimed to be. So here's why I think they're a bit of an IQ test - are you building the right car? Do you have realistic expectations? What's the most effective way to get the most from these cars? Most of the focus is on early SN95's, 1994-1998 ...

Who Invented This Windmill?

I saw a hand-built model of a wind turbine in the early 1980s at a relative's home and it's always bothered me that it was also the last time I ever saw one like it. So in this video I'm building a replica from memory, using random junk from around my house. Let me know if you've seen a real windmill like this!

Automotive cribbing is safe, easy, cheap (or free!) and absolutely worth building for your automotive DIY projects. Not a bad gift idea for the gearhead in your life too! Cost of materials was twelve, 96" 2x4's (they were like $3.58 each) , a tube of liquid nails (about $4) and some not-liquid nails that I had already.. maybe another $4 ? Right about $50 USD in 2024. Mustang Burnouts or Mustang Burnout?
Can you just replace one tire on jeep Patriot 4x4 if one goes bad?
Hi Sir I have a 2007 JEEP COMPASS..is it Advisable to Put 225/75/R16 on my Jeep to look Higher and More muscle For Off road? Very Good Video by the way💪
225/75R16 is 29.3" tall and could rub in a couple places on a Compass. A 225/70R16 is 1.1" larger diameter and 10mm wider than stock Compass tires and should have no difficulty.
Thank you for the info 💪
I hope u can also discuss Jeep compass 2007 on ur segment
I am planning to put 265/60/R18..bcoz I have stock rims 18'
Hi I have Jeep compass 07 And my 4x4 is not engaging...my LOW LIGHT IS NOT working also please give tips and advice.thank you

Replace the engine with a Predator engine, super sleeper. lol.
Lmfao a harbor freight special will last half a pull
I observed that the Probe GT was a better v6 Mustang. As good as the Mustang GT in stock form. Half the 5.0 displacement, 1.3l less than the 3.8. 7k rpm, all aluminum, variable length intake with 3 length of intake using one set of runners, 24 valves, forged crank. Weight is about 430lbs. about the weight of a 4 cylinder from that era. There are 4 different Mazda intakes for that engine. Each designed for different rpm and they all look unique. 164hp on the low end stock, 200 hp for the JDM hotted up one. Switch to a newer ECU for MAF about 210-215. That will beat a 4.6 2v GT or 5.0 GT, NA. Mazdas technical papers on VRIS do a pretty good job explaining how it works helmholtz resonance, using the air like a spring. The intakes look more like the earlier 3.8 intake ironically. Instead of one intake box, it's like the 2 sides of the newer 3.8 intake folded onto one another, offset for equal length. 2 boxes, 3 runners each. The trick part is 2 other tubes connect between the intake halves. The tubes (vacuum valved,) open up as you go through the rpms, allowing the 2 boxes to share more and more air. Effectively shortening the air path.
Those K engines are a good example of what you can get by spending more money on an engine. They're considerably taller so they couldn't reuse the same K-member as the GT Mustangs and still fit under the low hood and the pair of DOHC heads probably cost more to manufacture than a whole running Essex 3.8 . But Mazda does build a great engine when someone's willing to pay for it!
Nothing IQ about ford. Correct letters are POS Hahaha

I think dual exhaust or bigger single with a nicer Y pipe is best amd thats it.

Great video man!
I just ordered flowmaster 50 series delta from Amazon for my honda city gm6 4 cylinder. Do you think im wrong to pick 50 series for my honda city? I want to increase the torque and engine efficiency of my honda city. Thank you for your reply.
It's going to sound more exciting but you probably won't see any power increase. An easy way to identify if there is potential power "hiding" in the intake and exhaust of a car is to look at the RPM at which the horsepower peak occurs. If your engine makes peak horsepower close to its rev limit that means changes to intake and exhaust won't make a big difference. These older Mustangs, especially like the red one has its torque peak at just 2750 RPM and its horsepower peak at 4000 rpm which is an indicator of poor flow and why simple changes like exhaust can make a big difference on them.
Car IQ test? Too smart for me!
Great video, I’d like to see a comparison between the NPI 4.6 and the PI 4.6 from you.. Unfortunately you don’t have those 2 cars 😂😂 I know all the differences but I like the way you explained it all in detail.. Also have you looked into the Windstar intake upgrade??
Thanks! The Windstar intake was the easy go-to 20 years ago because it updates the single port 3.8's using junkyard parts and there just weren't a lot of new edge split port engines in junkyards yet. I think today in 2024 a 4.2 truck swap is less work, same money and more power when starting with a SN95 single port, or just having the stock intake assembly ported when starting with a New Edge car. That lets you avoid a bunch of questionable "home depot" stuff, maybe having to get a different hood if you started with the heat extractor stock hood, etc. I'd do a Windstar swap if I had a rescue car that was always going to look like a dog's lunch, it does work.
The gap is so the leaves leave.. 😂😂
Keep pushing out this content you popping up in my feed
Thanks for the encouragement!
I dunno who invented this. You could use that wind energy to rotate motor shaft and light an led maybe.
I have a 2015 Jeep Patriot with General Altimax RT-45 tires and have driven through snow like no other car I've ever owned. This is the best one that I've had in the snow. It's sufficient for everything that I need it for, and it hauls some PA equipment around for me.. Thank you for the video.
I'm testing my gas mileage when I turn off the trash you control I seem to double gas mileage
As someone who bought a Patriot recently. I heard one important distinction in your video, bigger tires mean sacrificing torque… this sounds like a great excuse for a turbo install idk 🤷
Every once in a while someone says they're gonna do it but conspicuously they never come back to show it done 😁🤣 My opinion is it's just not worth it, for the same money it would cost to make a turbo Patriot you could just buy any of the other available 4wd's with the power and gearing you wanted.
@@shoveI oh sure, absolutely. I know how many cheaper and more capable 4x4’s I can buy for the money. But I also know I like this car a lot and for now it’s my daily. A little extra performance and fuel economy out of a car I already really like driving and fits my family doesn’t seem like a bad get.
I like the stock sound better for now. The little camcorder did pretty good!
🤣 at this point that action cam doesn't owe the world a thing... I've had it ~12 years and it filmed probably 80% of the video I've ever uploaded... it's been submerged in the Pacific and the Atlantic and glacial water, been down a mine shaft on a rope in Arizona, strapped to every part of a 4x4 off road, fallen off 2 different cars at highway speed and it still operates like the day I got it.
@@shoveI Don't ever get rid of it!
My 2015 came with 17” wheels and nice aluminum rims.
After a few months how are those parts running
No deterioration, still silent and smooth. I was pleased that the inexpensive FCS struts with different-than-stock spring construction seem just fine, same ride height and no apparent negative ride quality.
Nice, I was looking at those same seats the other day and was wondering how they fit and looked.
Nice video
All the ones after like 08 have been pretty reliable
I feel like we're never going to get absolutely to the bottom of the reputation they have, whether it's idling too much or delayed service intervals... all I know is I've had this truck more than 9 years and it's still not giving me any trouble.
I need to do this.
Janky tie-down is janky! But if the battery is still good, no use in throwing away money on a new one.
It's weird that despite how many Mustangs were sold 1994-2004, all of which use the exact same Group 59 battery I have not yet been able to find an AGM (or lithium or any other modern non-flooded-lead) that's exactly that size to properly secure into the tray, which holds the battery from a lip at the bottom. There are other solutions to this like an aftermarket tray with a top clamp, but they sold a LOT of Mustangs during those 11 years and their durable and collectible nature means more of them get maintained, upgraded, etc than their contemporary economy cars.. in other words I think it's bizarre nobody makes a premium battery that's truly direct fit. Brands like Optima and Interstate want to sell a Group 34 which still doesn't clamp down in the factory tray.
You did a better job than most actual shops would have done. Professional and clean and all done to a nice 80's soundtrack.
The easiest fix would have been to screw a self tapper between the terminal and the clamp
That's a good emergency fix! I wouldn't feel good about leaving it like that when a better fix is possible
Appreciate the video, the tinking noises scared me when i first heard them at idle, i thought it was the beginning of lifter tick. I gotta 16' 1500 with 82,000 miles. Only problem i have is vibration/shaking at highway speeds, probably just tire balance or alignment but i love this truck!
Couple of cinder blocks cheaper option
I love wood cribs. Had a scary moment when I had to double stack some wood blocks on jack to get the height that I needed. Didn't check the condition of the 2x4 and one split. Luckily I had the jack stands under the car😅
You always remember those close calls!
What a crazy song.....I was like oh baby back ribs, Marilyn Manson Beautiful people..... then I thought I heard Tears for Fears for a second 😂
I see your first mistake. You didn't chock block your rear wheels to keep the car from potentially rolling off of the jack.
Wouldn't leaving it in gear and pulling the E-brake serve the same purpose?
You don't think the brake is enough? We all trust it to keep the car from running down hills & it's why I raised the front first.
Just an added safety measure. Parking brake only working on two tires at a time instead of 4.
Chock block would be working on the same two tires.... I agree that it's a good safety measure, however it's not a necessity. @@chriskahl6818
